ABOUT ME
Dr. Mohd. Asyraf Mansor (School of Distance Education, USM)
Dr. Mohd. Asyraf Mansor joined the School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as a lecturer in 2018 after graduating from USM in the field of Neural Networks. Dr. Mohd. Asyraf Mansor's research revolve around applied mathematics with particular focus on improvement and development of hybrid neural network learning algorithms involving the Hopfield neural network, various logic satisfiability programming and metaheuristic algorithm such as artificial immune system for data mining. These hybrid neural networks have been successfully incorporated in many applications such as VLSI circuit verification, pattern recognition, Bezier curve optimization and real-life data mining. Hence, Dr. Mohd. Asyraf Mansor's developed model has been developed as a tool in various real-life problem such as social media performance metrics, cardiovascular diseases detection and so forth. Apart from that, he is also interested in the research on numerical methods and other applied mathematics topic.
Being a lecturer in School of Distance Education, teaching is also an important domain. Currently, Dr. Mohd. Asyraf is teaching Calculus, Vector Calculus, Partial Differential Equations, and Project. However, he is on the verge of introducing new courses such as Discrete Mathematics and Big Data or Neural Network.
